Morning Worship each Sunday in the Sanctuary at 8:30 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. In both services, God's word is shared through readings and responses with the sermon preached by Dr. Steven H. Bell. Everyone is welcome to worship at First United Methodist Church. Our sanctuary was built in 1896 and is a beautiful place to praise God and celebrate the faith that is ours in Jesus Christ. The Sanctuary has stunning stained glass windows and the steeple is a Corsicana landmark. The two services provide a familiar and welcoming environment for many who have grown up in the church.
The Acolytes lead our worship as they bring in the flame to light the candles on the Altar table and the platform, we celebrate the light of Christ that comes into our lives and our worship. When the service concludes our Acolytes extinguish the candles and carry the light out of the sanctuary as a symbol of Christ’s Light guiding us out into the world to serve God’s people.
The beautiful music of our pipe organ, piano, and Chancel Choir bring us into an attitude of worship. The Adult Hand Bell Choir and the Flute Choir occasionally add to the sound of these worship experiences in both services.
